What I like about my internship experience.
Among the most interesting tasks I had during my internship were learning on how to mitigate the effects of the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities, and how to mitigate the effects of WannaCry ransomware attack in 2017. When these happened, the whole IT Infrastructure team worked in tandem to quickly patch the Averis IT system to prevent these viruses from entering the system. I was amazed by the teamwork displayed by everyone in the team and I was glad to be a part of them.
Besides that, I also learned various ways to prevent these cyber attacks to happen again. These lessons are very valuable for my future career development.
Challenges I faced during internship and how I overcame them.
One of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced was managing users’ expectations. As an intern, I have to be very alert and understanding of the users’ situations. I will always try to solve their problems swiftly as it does not only mean solving their problems, it actually makes everyone’s job become more conducive and smooth.
What I have learned from this internship.
I have gained a lot of basic knowledge in the IT industry which was also one of the things that I love the most during my internship. This program has taught me the professional way in carrying out my tasks.
My advice for other interns.
Just have fun working and at the same time try to gain as much knowledge as you can. Interning here is a good start to learn the ins and outs of the professional world.
