Result or Process? CIO, Patrick Khoo, shares his insights.

9 September 2020

Result or Process? This is a much-debated topic in many workplace – whether the result (or outcome) is more important or the process. In our recently-concluded New Joiner Orientation (NJO), this topic was discussed among many others. CIO, Patrick Khoo, shared with us that result is what matters because it is the goal your process is driven towards.

Consistent result is the bedrock for everything – including process, and process without result is a waste. If there is something wrong with the process, there will not be consistent result. So, we talk about the result first – do we have the desired result? Then we look at the process – how do we increase efficiency or achieve better result? If we do not have the desired result, how do we fix the process to drive our goals? The challenge here is in mastering the process and focusing on the result.

The Lunch with CIO is a new agenda in our NJO and it has proven to be one of the most engaging and interactive parts of the 2-day experience. We are definitely looking forward to the next one!
